Edgar Rodas

Edgar Rodas, MD, FACS, is President and Founder of the CINTERANDES FOUNDATION, an NGO mainly providing surgery in remote places in an operating room mounted on a truck. Since 1994, more than 7,200 operations have been performed with excellent results. Besides surgery, the program aims to expose medical students and surgical residents to the Global Humanitarian Surgery. Previously, Dr. Rodas has been Professor of Surgery of the University of Cuenca, Medical School, Vice rector of the University of Cuenca, Dean and Founder of the University of Azuay, Medical School, President of the Ecuadorian Surgical Society and Minister of Health of Ecuador. During the past six years, he has been a lecturer in the course of Global Humanitarian Medicine at Stanford University. (Ecuador)
